A Simple Korean Skincare Routine for Sensitive Skin

Sensitive skin is not a single diagnosis. It is a practical description for skin that frequently stings, burns, becomes red or feels uncomfortable after products or environmental exposure. A useful Korean skincare routine for sensitive skin should be short, predictable and easy to evaluate.

Start with a gentle cleanse

Use lukewarm water and a mild cleanser. The goal is to remove sunscreen, makeup and excess oil without leaving the face tight. Scrubs, cleansing brushes and repeated washing can make reactive skin feel worse.

Build around hydration and barrier comfort

After cleansing, apply one simple hydrating layer. Ingredients such as glycerin, panthenol and hyaluronic acid are commonly used to attract or retain water. Follow with a moisturizer appropriate for your skin type. A formula with many fashionable ingredients is not automatically better than a well-tolerated basic product.

Introduce targeted products one at a time

Patch test a new product and begin every other day. Avoid changing the cleanser, serum and cream during the same week; otherwise, it becomes difficult to identify the source of irritation. Cosmetic products should not cause persistent burning, swelling or itching. Stop use if these occur.

Do not skip sunscreen

Choose broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher. The American Academy of Dermatology advises people with sensitive skin to look for suitable sensitive-skin formulations and notes that mineral filters such as zinc oxide and titanium dioxide may be useful options. Sunscreen helps limit visible photoaging and can reduce the worsening of dark marks.

A simple routine

Morning: gentle cleanse or water rinse → hydrating serum → moisturizer → sunscreen.

Evening: gentle cleanse → one targeted product, if tolerated → moisturizer.

SkinPlugin products can be selected by formula and skin goal rather than by the number of steps. Review the full ingredient list and package directions before use. Severe or persistent redness, pain, scaling or sudden sensitivity should be evaluated by a qualified clinician.
